Sam and MaryRose :: Nichols Arboretum Ann Arbor, Michigan Engagement Photographer

This was a really fun session we photographed at the Nichols Arboretum in Ann Arbor, MI. If you’ve never been here before, definitely check it out! It’s located downtown right in the midst of University of Michigan campus next to the U of M hospital and CS Mott Children’s Hospital. There are so many perfect locations thought to shoot and we find something new every time we come here. We love the variety it offers from woods, to a river, flower garden, and even some buildings!

Sam Nelson is a long-time family friend. We have a long history with the Nelson family. We have gone to church with them forever and had countless photo sessions with them over the years. His sister Emily got married recently and we photographed her engagement and wedding. We even took Sam’s senior photos a long time ago.

Sam met the wonderful MaryRose… and they are the perfect match together! We had the best time wandering around the Nichols Arboretum with them. We went at the perfect time of the year because so many flowers were in bloom… even the peony garden was working it’s magic. Oddly enough, when we were walking around, we stumbled across some broken bricks. They must have been from a Nelson Brick Co or something because we found one with their last name on it! How cool is that!?

Sam and MaryRose are both musicians, so they decided to take a few photos with their instruments. Sam plays the guitar, and MaryRose plays the flute. Check out the cute photo of them later in the blog.

We had a wonderful time with the two of you at your engagement session and we can’t wait for the wedding later this year. They plan to get married right next to the Arboretum at Island Park.
