A Greek Orthodox Wedding Ceremony
On a beautiful Saturday in Saginaw, Michigan, Nick and Kate exchanged their vows in a traditional Greek Orthodox wedding ceremony at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. The bride walked down the aisle accompanied by her father to meet her soon-to-be husband. He was waiting at the altar in his sharp black tuxedo. Kate had a photo of Nick and his father sewn into his tie as a surprise on the wedding day. What a sweet gift!
There were so many symbolic traditions during the ceremony, such as the Crowning Ceremony, where the couple exchanged crowns to symbolize their love and devotion to one another. The Priest blessed the couple and their union, they exchanged rings and shared their first kiss as husband and wife.
The Reception at the Double Tree
After the ceremony, guests made their way to the reception at the Double Tree Hotel in Bay City Michigan, where they were welcomed with a delicious cocktail hour, complete with hors d’oeuvres and drinks. We love the location of this reception venue! It’s right on the river, right in the middle of downtown, and such a fun place to be. There are so many things for your guests to do before the reception, and the day after the wedding. Downtown Bay City is a truly wonderful place to explore, shop, and dine. The reception was a night of dining, and dancing, with speeches from friends and family, and a dance floor that was packed all night long.
The newlyweds shared a dance, followed by guests joining them on the dance floor to celebrate their union.
Nick and Kate’s wedding day was a true celebration of their love and the start of their lives together. It was an unforgettable day filled with love, laughter, and joy. Congratulations to the happy couple on their new journey as husband and wife!
